***A NEW SUPPORT AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITY*** FoNS Small Projects Programme: Special Focus Supporting Developments in Practice to Improve Fundamental Aspects of Care Improving Patients’ Experience of Care: FoNS and Antigone (Martha Lane Fox’s new grant giving trust) are delighted to announce a new support and funding opportunity for nurse-led teams About the special focus It is essential that patients experience care that is high quality and patient-focused. Communication, personal hygiene, privacy and dignity and food and nutrition are all fundamental elements of care that are of huge importance. We are therefore pleased to be partnering with Martha Lane Fox’s new trust, Antigone, on a new programme to offer support to two nurse-led teams over a twelve – eighteen month period to develop an initiative that will improve an essential aspect of care. We want to hear from nurse-led teams all over the UK who may have an idea for a project for this programme. The FoNS Small Projects Programme Special Focus offers nurse-led teams:
Who should apply This programme is specifically aimed towards supporting clinically based nurses and healthcare practitioners i.e. those providing direct care to patients/service users. No previous experience of writing project proposals/plans is required as help can be offered. Essentially we are looking for nurse-led teams who have a good idea for developing a fundamental aspect of healthcare practice that will improve patients' experience of care and would welcome the facilitation and support that is available from the FoNS practice development facilitators. Multi-professional involvement is encouraged and management support is essential. How to apply Click here to download an Application and Guidance pack. All potential applicants are strongly advised to first read through the application and guidance pack and then to contact Kate Sanders or Theresa Shaw via email: kate.sanders@fons.org ; theresa.shaw@fons.org or by telephone: 0207 233 5750, to informally discuss your ideas/proposal. This ensures that, in principle, your idea/proposal fits with the general focus of the programme and provides an opportunity to discuss the support and facilitation that is available from FoNS and how this can be tailored to meet the individual needs of applicants. Closing date for applications The closing date for applications is Friday 23rd May 2008.
