FoNS recognises the value of networking opportunities. Listed below are events that may be of interest to those working in practice development and service improvement.

* Fostering a Culture of Effectiveness through Practice Development (an International Practice Development Collaboration approved event)

This IPDC practice development school is hosted by Canterbury Christchurch Univeristy along with The Foundation of Nursing Studies. It is a five day residential school and takes place from Monday 27th Sept - Friday 1st October 2010. The venue is Salomons Campus near Tunbridge Wells in Kent (see http://www.salomonscentre.org.uk/  for details).

The school lead is Professor Jan Dewing who has many years experience in practice development work and in leading these schools.  Other lead facilitators are Kate Sanders who is a Practice Development Facilitator at FoNS, and Dr Jonathan Webster who has worked as a Consultant Nurse and now works in a Commissioning PCT.  
 
The school aims to attract 25-30 people. It will focus on the core principles and processes of practice development and on helping participants to explore how practice development can achieve multiple health care agendas and also make work a more interesting and positive experience. The school is open to nurses and allied health professionals. 

The cost of the school is £900 which includes course materials, accommodation and all meals.

Enhancing Practice 10 - Celebrating innovative, creative and strategic health care, social care and education practice

13-15 September 2010, Europa Hotel, Belfast, Northern Ireland

This is a participative, democratic event aimed at practitioners, practice developers, facilitators, educators, researchers and policy makers. Creative approaches to learning and personal development will be incorporated throughout the conference and social events and is designed to create time for reflection and networking.

The British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) 25th Annual Conference, Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th September 2010.

This year's Conference, "Taking Pride in Practice, Celebrating 25 Years" will take place in Merseyside on Southport's elegant Promenade, at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre.

The British Association of Critical Care Nurses is one of the largest Critical Care organisations in the UK. Its annual conference now has a reputation for delivering imaginative conference programmes that are educationally stimulating and informative. The Conference welcomes all professionals within the Critical Care field regardless of level or grade.
