Developing and changing practice is complex and often involves challenging the culture of organisations and teams. The outcomes of initiatives are not always those expected, but FoNS believes it is essential to share these experiences so as they contribute to the knowledge base regarding the development of practice.

The Dissemination Series, introduced in October 2002, reflects FoNS' ongoing commitment to supporting the development of nursing and healthcare practice. It is a folder containing a set of reports about projects and initiatives that have received funding and support from FoNS. New reports are added twice a year.

All the projects and initiatives included in the series have aimed to:

•  Respond to the needs of patients

•  Be evidence based

•  Make changes to practice

•  Improve the care of patients

•  Share the experience of developing and changing practice
