Nurses, midwives and specialist community public heatlh nurses are at the heart of patient care and have become increasingly influential within the world of healthcare in terms of service delivery and purchasing. They are committed to ensuring care is of the highest standard but are also working in an increasingly pressured environment and often need additional support to enable them to lead developments in healthcare practice that improve care. As a registered charity, FoNS is committed to providing this support and over the years we have been successful in helping nurses make a real difference to patient care.

There are many ways in which you can work in partnership with us to ensure that we can continue to:

• Provide support to nurses, midwives and specialist community public health nurses who are improving patient care
• Support the spreading and sharing of developments in healthcare practice and practice-based research
• Recognise and reward practitioners who demonstrate achievement and/or excellence in developing practice

FoNS has developed a number of mutually beneficial partnerships with the corporate sector (including Pfizer, Partnerships in Care, Wyeth and Elsevier) to support nurse-led initiatives that will contribute towards the improvement of patient care and can be shared throughout nursing to advance practice.

FoNS is keen to work with more companies in ways that are mutually beneficial, make a real difference to patient care and support the nursing profession who have a crucial role in healthcare.
