SUPPORTING FONS

Patients & Carers

Nurses, midwives and specialist community public health nurses are at the heart of patient care and are often the main point of contact for patients, carers and service users during a time of illness or hospitalisation. Similarly, they have a key role to play in preventing illness and promoting the health and well being of individuals, families and communities.

Nurses, midwives and specialist community public health nurses are committed to ensuring care is of the highest standard but they are also working in an increasingly pressured environment and often need additional support to help them to lead developments in healthcare practice that improve care.

As a registered charity, FoNS is committed to providing this support and over the years we have been successful in helping healthcare practitioners make a real difference to patient care. You may have read about some of this work in the Advancing Healthcare Practice and Rewarding Excellence sections of this website.

To maintain our commitment to nurses, midwives and specialist community public health nurses we need to continually work hard to secure on-going funding. There are many ways in which you can help.
