Lucy Rogers
Registered Mental Health Nurse
I’m Lucy, and I’ve been a Registered Mental Health Nurse since 2009. Over the years, I’ve taken on various clinical and operational roles in different services, including inpatients, community care, forensics, and specialties.
I find myself continually drawn back to inpatient services because I love the challenge of providing care to patients when they are most unwell and witnessing their journey towards recovery as they reintegrate into the community.
My current post as a matron is in a faced paced acute admissions unit, where we support individuals facing a variety of mental health issues, both voluntarily and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
At our hospital, we take great pride in the quality of care we provide. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to treat each patient as a unique individual, understanding that recovery is a personal journey for everyone. Our nursing team has even been recognised as finalists for a nursing team of the year award!
I am constantly working to enhance the care experience for our patients while fostering a sense of wellbeing within our team to make it a site where everyone gains satisfaction and purpose from their role. I’m excited about the upcoming Person-Centred Cultures course and can’t wait to share what I learn with the nursing teams at our hospital.
