We’re delighted to share additional resources especially tailored for nurses delivering RBCS in social care.

The RBCS Social Care Implementation Guide

Working with people who have participated in the RBCS for Social Care Programme, this implementation guide offers top tips for how to embed restorative clinical supervision in your organisation. While based on social care, many of the ideas are relevant across health and care.

Matthew Adlem from Fulcrum Care Limited gave a presentation about Clinical Supervision and CQC requirements.

His main points were:

  • Have a policy in place about clinical supervision and follow it
  • Keep a clear record of when clinical supervision is held and who attends
  • Evidence the difference between managerial and clinical supervision
  • Consider how your organisation vision and values support an open listening and reflective practice
  • Ask how your organisation can demonstrate that staff feel they are supported and listened to
  • Can you demonstrate how you support registered employees with NMC revalidation?
  • CQC do not need to see an explanation of what was talked about in RBCS clinical supervision sessions, but reflections on a supervision session may be worth doing especially where organisational lessons have been identified
