Based on a series of case-studies, we learned first-hand about the experiences of people dealing with the sequelae of a Covid-19 infection and the challenges of seeking support from a health care system in the dark.

Drawing on the specialist knowledge and expertise of nurses working with people with a variety of long term conditions and the evidence they provided we learned of the significant, yet largely untapped, potential of the nursing profession to support people living with the sequelae of a Covid-19 infection.

And from this learning, we developed a Framework for Preparedness, which if implemented, could put nursing on the front foot and help nurses feel more confident in caring for patients in situations such as pandemics, or when medical diagnoses are unclear or unavailable.

Subsequently we have published outputs and commissioned graphic papers to increase the accessibility of this work.
