About Inspire Improvement

This programme is now closed for applications. A further cohort will be recruited in 2018

Are you a clinical leader and interested in expanding your skills in facilitating culture change and continuous improvements in care and services at the frontline of practice?

Inspire Improvement is an exciting new programme, supported by the Burdett Trust for Nursing, which will develop a community of FoNS Improvement Fellows – clinical leaders with expertise in facilitating improvement and culture change at the frontline of practice. Over 12 months, the programme will offer fellows:

Six learning and development days to:

  • Develop skills as facilitators
  • Explore and enable the use of effective strategies for creating person-centred workplace cultures
  • Promote continuous improvement (each fellow will be expected to lead practice improvements with their team)

Support in the workplace and via telephone/email from a FoNS Practice Development facilitator to:

  • Refine and use skills in facilitation to lead and develop their team
  • Promote reflective practice
  • Support problem-solving
  • Undertake evaluation and actively share outcomes via report writing and publishing to spread learning across their organisation and more widely

A bursary of up to £3000 to support the development and improvement work

FoNS is looking for enthusiastic practitioners leading nursing and/or care teams at the frontline of clinical care, who have a desire to create more person centred, safe, caring and effective workplace cultures for patients/residents and staff. You could be for example a ward sister/matron, community team leader or care home manager across any area of health and social care in the UK.

Benefits for the individual

By taking part in the programme and becoming a FoNS Improvement Fellow, you will be expanding your knowledge and skills in leading and facilitating culture change and continuous improvement.

Benefits for the care setting and organisation

FoNS Improvement Fellows will be able to influence and strengthen teamworking and facilitate and sustain a workplace culture that is more person-centred, safe and effective.  The Improvement fellow will be supported to spread and share their learning with others.

Closing date: 6th November 2017

Culture Change

As health and social care staff, we all want to be kind and caring and make sure that services are safe and effective. FoNS' Culture Change model, resources and animation can help.
